Weekly Wrap Up - Hello October!

Brrr...do you feel the October chill in the air?  This is probably my favorite time of the year.  I love the colors and smells of fall, the fall festivals (probably not happening this year), corn mazes and pumpkin patches.   I like pumpkin rolls, caramel apples and popcorn balls.   I do not, however, like all things pumpkin spice.  Soups, stews and chili's are a staple this time of year, and here's a recipe I shared earlier in the week for Crack Chicken Chili.   I love to have real candles burning in the house to add fragrance and the flicker of candle light for ambiance.

Monday morning I had a zoom meeting with the advisory committee I'm on for the local community college.  I was shocked to hear that they are thinking YEARS before returning to on-site regular classes.  I just can't even buy into that ya'll.  School went pretty well.  Lindsey's plowing through her academics and is really doing a great job with managing her time and getting her work done.  I believe ASL is her favorite class.  She was also dog sitting for a few days and had a cute little study buddy to cuddle with.

Tuesday was pretty typical, with the exception of having the dog with us. Olivia is spending a great deal of time working on her German lessons.  I guess a class you want to do instead of one you have to do makes all the difference.  She can be found for hours at a time splayed out in the floor.  The pup got picked up in the evening, and then there was volleyball and jiu-jitsu.  We watched the Presidential debate, which gave us a lot of topics for conversation.

Wednesday was a typical day, again.   Lindsey had her first night of high school volleyball - rec league style in the evening.  There are 6 teams, and several of those are a full high school team who have played together for years.  The other teams are made up of random players from around the area who have played high school volleyball or who have played on a J.O. (junior olympic team).  The random teams (where Lindsey landed) had a rough night trying to figure out positions, rotations and abilities.

Thursday was FAFSA day!  While I don't know that Olivia will decide to go to college next fall either, I was at least glad to get the application done and out of way.   Grocery shopping, school, laundry, volleyball and jiu-jitsu wrapped up our day.

Friday morning Lindsey had an orthodontist appointment.  She went up to the largest wire size and got bands put on.  Power chains were scheduled for the next visit is.  In the afternoon, my brother came out and we all went to the $3 theater to watch Hocus Pocus.  We were the only folks there, and popcorn refills were fast and free.

Have a good weekend.  Pray for President Trump and the first lady as they walk through their own covid-19 diagnosis.
