Weekly Wrap Up - Hectic Week

Lantern tours began this past weekend at the museum.  We purchased tickets for opening night (in case it gets shut down later in the season).  Unfortunately, we were the only people who bought tickets for opening night, and then heavy rains moved in.  Fortunately, they were able to reschedule our show to this coming Friday night, so hopefully all will go well then.   Lindsey enjoyed working the Saturday and Sunday shows, and is looking forward to the next two weekends.

Olivia picked up extra hours at her new job over the weekend. Between the two jobs she got in almost 8 hours each day.  She's really happy to be getting more hours, and more experience.  The new job has fox hunters, vaulters and jumpers so she's quickly adding to her knowledge base.   I'm spending a lot of my time getting her to and from work these days.  You may be asking why she doesn't have her driver's license yet, and the answer is quite simply "No available appointments."  Our DMV offices are booked up 90 days out and we just keep checking and hoping to find an availability.

Monday I was up super early and out the door taking my brother, Nelson, to the airport.  The rest of the day was pretty standard with school work and laundry, and dog sitting.  Then a late night trip back to the airport to pick Nelson up again.

Tuesday Olivia had to be at her new job at 7:30am.  She worked the morning shift and was home by 10am.   I drove Nelson and the dog home, and then stopped to finish my Christmas shopping on the way back.  Olivia had a snuffy noses, so we erred on the side of caution and skipped jiu-jitsu for the evening.   I'm pretty sure it's just from being out in the cold and wind all week at the farms.

Wednesday was a regular school day.  Olivia worked the evening shift (3-6pm) at the new farm.  She's learning the routine there pretty quickly, even with a larger number of horses.  She feeds 27, but only has to bring in/turn out 9.

Olivia's regular weekend job gave her a few extra days this week. Thursday morning we were out the door before 5:30am to head over.   The good news is that the gals she works with during the week is SO much faster than her helper on the weekends.  We were done and back home in about an hour total.  We headed back for the afternoon shift.  Lindsey completed all of her school work without issue.  Our governor announced he is putting more covid restrictions in place.  The biggest being a curfew of midnight to 5am...I mean, other than criminals, who's out roaming around that time of night anyway?

Friday morning was a repeat of Thursday, with the exception of after we finished at job #1, I dropped Olivia off at farm #3 for a couple of hours.  I will pick her back up at 12:30 and take her back to job #1 for the afternoon shift.   School and housework took up the rest of the day.  Lindsey needs to be onsite at 3:15 to get ready for the tours tonight.  Hopefully I'll get a photo of her in costume for next week's post.

Have a great weekend!

  1. We have a curfew up here too and we all joke that Covid must be able to tell time now... but also agree that it's unlikely many people are around at those times unless they are working or up to no good.

  2. Our curfew is 10pm to 5am. I am not sure what the point is, but I think they are trying to prevent holiday parties with all of the drinking and lack of social distancing? Maybe?. I know a few people that are really upset because they were planning to party way into the night like our daughter's work party (which she was not attending). I am glad your daughter is picking up more farm animals. DMV is impossible to deal with right now.
    Blessings, Dawn
