Weekly Wrap Up–Week 3

Monday was a regular school day with nowhere to be in the evening!!  It’s amazing how busy we’ve been in the evenings this summer!  It was very refreshing to be able to weed the flower beds and enjoy being home for a change!

Tuesday was a no-school day.  I had orientation day for co-op (seriously) for several hours, and then I headed off to shop for a new gas range for the kitchen.  Our stove was damaged during the power surges that preceded the derecho back in July.   We’ve been waiting (not so) patiently for the repairman to get us an estimate on fixing it.  I almost fell through the floor when he finally got back with a dollar amount.  Then I had further price shock when looking at new ranges.  So we continue to be without a working oven.

While I was doing all of that, the girls were at Art Camp at church.  They made these awesome flags. They used a huge piece of foam board, strips of cloth and liquid starch.  Pretty neat, huh?

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were typical school days as well.  Olivia and I have been working on a new unit study together.   Then we colored the girls hair pink to go along with our unit study.

Oh, and I picked up this free desk this week.  I’ll be cleaning it and putting it either in the classroom or sun porch (yet to be determined) with the girls computer on it.

I finally sat down and figured out how to make a Face Book page for Learning Curve!   Feel free to mosey on over and LIKE me!  Now if I can just figure out how to get all the nifty bells and whistles to work between here and there.  Baby steps, that’s it, baby steps!

How’s was your week?   Be sure to link up to the Weekly Wrap Up!

  1. Love the pink hair! What unit study are you doing that it goes along with?

    1. We are doing a unit study on "The Care and Keeping of You" (as we quickly gain ground on puberty). Hopefully we'll finish up tomorrow and get the unit posted early next week.
