Weekly Wrap Up–Goodbye January!

It’s been another great week of homeschooling here.  Am I the only one who can’t believe it’s the end of January already?   My goodness the time gets away faster all the time!

The weekend saw us back at basketball.  There was a bit of excitement mid-game Saturday morning.  There was a gas leak in the facility we use for games and the building had to be evacuated.  We waited for a good hour until the gas company fixed the problem and the fire department deemed it safe to return.  Lindsey was so excited “I’ve never been in a real evacuation before!”   Yes dear, and we’d like to keep it that way.

The temperatures bottomed out again this week.  It officially became too cold in our basement to have lessons down there,so we moved to the sun porch.

A freak snowstorm (as in the weather guys NEVER saw it coming) hit Tuesday.  We were at ballet when it started, and by the time classes were over we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground and the road.  At 8 degrees it stuck instantly when it hit.

Olivia is doing on oral presentation on the book Treasure Island this week at co-op.  She pulled together a great costume (amazing what we find in my husbands closet), and then I made her a blood splattered rag out of an old sheet and some red food coloring.

Not to be outdone, Lindsey drew up a pirate map, hid “treasure” all over the house and then made us all go on a treasure hunt with her.

Today is the last co-op day of the month, so that means it’s PIZZA DAY for lunch.   Woohooo!

Argh mateys, how was your week?

  1. I hear you on it being too cold! Your sun room looks like a great option, though. Love the pirate concert.
