Celebrating Lindsey

Lindsey’s birthday party always falls on Labor Day weekend.   I guess giving birth during Hurricane Katrina should have prepared me for the fact that birthday celebrations for Lindsey would always be a challenge.  She’s never had a birthday party without major glitches happening.  This year was no exception thanks to family health issues and just..family issues, ahem.   We had to reschedule the “family” party of the birthday party to another weekend, and 4 of the 6 invited kids didn’t come.   Despite all of that, Lindsey says this was the best birthday party ever!

First we made tie-dye t-shirts.   Lots of fun, lots of mess, lots of giggles.

We’re pretty low key on birthday party food.  Take out pizza is always on the menu, and it’s a big hit as you can tell by the smiles.

Gifts were next, followed by our last craft.  I picked some really pretty girlie color acrylic paints and bought everyone their own little canvas to paint.  I opted for “abstract art”, because not everyone is artsy, but everyone can do abstract.

All these lovely girls are little ballerinas.  We’ve determined over the last few years, that ballet friends make the best friends.
