Wednesday we had temperatures near 50 degrees. Yesterday (Thursday) started out with heavy rains in the early morning. The rain suddenly changed to sleet and everything covered in a heavy glaze of ice. By the end of the day we were blanketed in another 10 inches of new snow, and by bedtime the temperatures had plummeted into the single digits.. The weekend temperatures are supposed to be in the 50’s, and next week the 60’s. Welcome to March in Virginia.
The rest of the week was pretty standard. School work is progressing nicely. We finished reading The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom in history and read a lot of information on Hitler. I’m floored to know that someone who dropped out of school at 16 became the most powerful man in Europe.
One of my favorite conversations this week:
Me: “What are you doing?”
Olivia: “I’m constructing a perpendicular bisection of a triangle.”
Me: “Alrighty then, carry on.”
I posted my 2015-2016 curriculum picks this week. Pop over and see what our 5th & 7th grade years are shaping up like. The tax return has arrived, so now I get to start ordering, squee!
How has your week been?
