In addition to cleaning like crazy, we took time on Wednesday to go to an speech and debate club informational meeting. Lindsey was the one who really wanted to do this, but we found out at the meeting that you have to be 13 to participate, so that knocked her out for this year. Olivia was still thinking it sounded good, until she found out the meetings are from 4:30-8:30pm every Thursday from August through December. We decided to shelf this idea for at least this year.
Olivia has been working through here new Algebra I program. She's doing several hours of classes each day so that she can get finished before the fall. This is both a review product and a remedial math class for her to strengthen her Algebra skills. Lindsey has been spending most of her time reading and pulling out a few toys she hasn't played with in a while (we're all out of puzzles).
This afternoon Olivia has her first practice with the girls basketball team at the private school she'll be playing for. The tonight we'll be taking the girls roller skating. Olivia is going to a birthday party at the rink, and since it's a 40 minute drive one way, I just decided we'd pay for Lindsey to skate on her own until the party is over. Win/win, I hope.
On the blog this week I shared our 10th Grade Curriculum Picks for Olivia's upcoming year. 10th grade ya'll....sheesh. In case you missed it, I also have posted our 7th Grade Curriculum Picks for Lindsey.
Linking up with the Weekly Wrap Up.
Wow! You accomplished a lot your first week of break.

We cleaned out playroom! I finally convinced the boys that there is an awful lot of toys in there that no one is playing with. They helped me get rid of 4 bags of toys and our old air hockey table. The room looks so empty now and I am loving the feeling of having just a bit more room in the house for us.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on arriving at your summer break time, and on all you accomplished during the first week of it! Thanks for sharing it on Homeschool Highlights!
ReplyDeleteYay for summer! Organizing is on my to-do list, too, and things look pretty jumbled now that I've started.
