Happy Friday everyone! It's hard to believe we're more than half way through July already! This week has been low key in comparison to the last couple.
On Sunday, our Haiti team shared in both of our morning services at church. It reminded me of tv talk shows, and may have made me giggle just a bit.. Then we took the kids to the $3 theatre to see "Solo" in the afternoon.
Monday was a catch up day. I got caught up on laundry, and Olivia slept until around 11:30, catching up on her sleep. I started revamping our fall curriculum choices (look for a new post next week) and ordered the last of the items we need. While doing the laundry, I noticed the hot water heater was leaking, so I had to call and schedule someone to come look at it. Lindsey made dinner for us, homemade egg noodles, hot slaw and fried sausages. YUM!!
Tuesday Lindsey worked at the museum all day. We had unexpected company drop in around lunch time and then Olivia and I ran a few errands. There was more school planning in the afternoon, and a low key evening at home.
Wednesday was when the plumber was supposed to come to look at the hot water heater. They gave me a 2 hour window of 10-noon for him to come by. Close to 12:30 I finally called to find that he was "20 minutes out", so I cancelled the appointment, only to have them call right back and say the guy was "on the corner". He finally arrived, spent 3 minutes looking at it and said he'd call me back with an estimate. He never called....I'm now looking for a new plumber. Lindsey had a penmanship class at the museum from 2-4pm.
Thursday morning Lindsey was back at the museum for a full day of work. Olivia and I headed to the chiropractor to get her hip worked on, then it was off to the grocery store. In the evening we hit a Valley League Baseball game. I called around to several plumbers and the lowest estimate I got for hot water heater replacement was $1200!!
Friday (today) we'll be home all day. Lindsey has her first for-pay sewing job and she'll be working on that all day. I'll share photos next week.
In case you've missed it, I've been sharing about our trip to Haiti this week on the blog. You can read about Haiti - Day 1, Haiti-Day 2 and Haiti - Day 3 by clicking on each link. If you're in a hurry, skip 1 and 2 and got straight to day 3!
Have a great weekend!
Looking forward to your next post about the Haiti trip. I am glad you all are getting back into the groove. Bummer about the water heater and yeah for a first sewing job.

Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWow! That is a crazy estimate!! I hope you can figure out something cheaper than that. Those egg noodles look amazing and now I'm thinking I really need to try making some pasta from scratch myself.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was really high too, but I've gotten 3 estimates so far and that's the lowest one!
