Monday the girls and I spent the evening baking goodies for our local DSS, in preparation for “World Kindness Day” on Tuesday. As part of The Forgotten Initiative we try to encourage the folks at DSS as much as we can. Tuesday morning we were up bright and early to go deliver our goodies and spread a little kindness.
Ballet/tap lessons for 2012 officially ended on Tuesday. We will be full force Nutcracker mania for the next several weeks. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems the schedule and the actual time of year don’t mesh. I mean, am I the only one who doesn’t feel Christmassy?
Wednesday was choir and Awana. The girls took their Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to the collection area at Awana.
Thursday was our monthly Activity Day meeting. Our class studied focused on Canada as we studied North America. We had a lovely time discussing the Inuit people and building igloo’s.
Friday was our last co-op meeting of 2012. It was really strange hearing people say “See you next year!”, as we left the building. Next year…seems so long off, but it’s so close…odd.
Lindsey finished up Math Mammoth Clock this week. We’ll be starting Math Mammoth Money next week. It’s amazing how tweaking the curriculum choice just a bit can make a HUGE difference. We’ve gone from tears and not understanding all the “quarter hours” to being able to tell time to the minute and telling how long until another given time. Go Lindsey!!
Olivia has been working on common factors with great success. Greatest common factors however seem to be throwing her a curve ball…go figure.

Yay for Operation Christmas Child! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like all kinds of other good stuff this week, too. Our outside classes are almost all done, too, and it is a little strange (but lovely!) to have off from them until January!
