Weekly Wrap Up–Horses, Bluegrass & The Fair

We have really gotten a lot of “bang for the buck” out of our next to last week of summer!   Saturday morning the girls and I got up early and made the trek out to see a local horse show.  Olivia LOVES horses, and she was in awe watching these beautiful creatures and their skilled riders.  This of course prompted much reading and research on horse breeds.

Here are a few of my favorite photos of the day.

Sunday afternoon we ventured over to the museum where Olivia works.  Our $35 annual family pass has already paid for itself many times over.  This particular weekend, in addition to getting into the museum, we also got into a free bluegrass concert.  The weather was perfect.  The band, Bud’s Collective, was really good and I forgot.my.camera.   Sigh.

Wednesday night we went to our local county fair.  This was SO much fun!  We ran into so many friends and the kids rode rides until it closed at 11pm.   The fried Oreo’s were ah-ma-zing!

Olivia had to work at the museum from 9-4 on Thursday.  Poor thing, she was exhausted when she got up to go to work.   Welcome to the grown up world dear child.

Friday I took the girls and Lindsey’s friend Kelly to the swimming pool for the day.  This was my first time I’ve been to the pool all summer, and will most likely be the last as our pools close August 17.

This week’s recipe is a cream cheese, chocolate chip dip that is delish.  This is great for the informal get together, or as a movie night treat.
