Weekly Wrap Up - Snowy Edition

Mom's memorial service was on Saturday.   It was a really nice service, and it was so neat to have friends and family come together to pay tribute to her, and to support us.

Monday we were up early and off to our chiropractor appointment that I had to reschedule.  We came home and knocked out our school work pretty easily.   After dinner we were off to my husband's fist softball scrimmage (he's playing on a church league team this year).    Sometime around midnight is where things went horribly awry.

Tuesday 12:01 a.m. Olivia woke up violently ill, as in I've never seen her this sick in her almost 15 years.  From midnight until about 5:30 is was a nightmare for her.  Around 6am she finally dropped off to sleep and dozed in and out for most of the day.   She spiked a sudden fever of 104 mid-afternoon and then it was gone as quickly as it came.   She continued to sleep off and on all evening and officially went to bed around 8pm and slept until 9 the next morning.    Lindsey managed to get her schoolwork done and helped me around the house.   We were expecting a late season snow in the evening, and all our activities were cancelled, which is good because there's no way we could have gone.

Wednesday morning we got up to about 6 inches of snow on the ground.   By the end of the day we had over 12 inches on the ground and it was still coming down.   Olivia was very fatigued and had no interest in snow or food or anything else.   She laid on the sofa and watched Jesse Duplantis videos most of the day and dozed in and out.    Lindsey got her schoolwork done and then went out to play in the snow.   All evening activities, including church were cancelled.
Thursday Olivia finally felt well enough to get some school work done.   She worked on American Literature, art and her co-op homework.   That was enough to totally wipe her out and she retired to the sofa again.   Thankfully she did eat a bit more substantial food for dinner.   Lindsey plowed through her work and was back out in the snow.   All evening activities were again cancelled.
We did the face print in the snow thing I keep seeing online, and it worked!!!

Friday (today) is co-op, we don't have to be there for first class, so Olivia can still get a little extra rest in.   She's lost just a few ounces short of 10 pounds this week.   We'll have classes from 10-noon, then I'll drop the kids off at home before I grocery shop.

In case you missed it earlier this week, I shared a review of the War to End All Wars - File Folder Game,  one of the a-la-carte products from Home School In the Woods.

Linking up with the Weekly Wrap Up and a few other places yet to be determined.

  2. Aw, poor girl. I hope everyone else manages to stay healthy. We got a bit of snow but nowhere near what they were forecasting. By the next day when the sun came out it all melted. I was so thankful since we still have a few inches from last week's storm.

  3. We mostly got the crazy wind. So glad the horrible illness didn't go through the whole family. I hope she is completely better.
    Blessings, Dawn
