Monday morning I had a job interview for a part time position (15 hours a week) in a chiropractor's office. It sounded pretty good until the office manager said "Are you good at taking correction, because if I find you've made a mistake I'll ride you until you get it right." Uh...no, I don't deal well with that, most people don't, ahem. Olivia went to the farm upon my return from my interview, and then in the afternoon our piano headed out the door to its new home. School work happened in and around all of that.
Tuesday the schools were closed here due to the democratic primary. Lindsey had a child here to babysit all day. Olivia finished her driver's education online class and took the final exam. Afterwards, she headed out to the farm and got in some riding time. She was happy to be back in the saddle again. We didn't have time for dinner between Lindsey's charge leaving and jiu-jitsu, so we grabbed pizza after class for a late dinner.
Wednesday morning Lindsey was up early to work on her schoolwork before heading out the door to babysit. I dropped her off and then dropped Olivia off at the farm. After getting rid of the piano, I decided to rearrange furniture. In the afternoon, when Olivia returned home, we moved the sofa and loveseat from the sunporch to the living room and took the sofa from the living room to the sunporch. No amount of rearranging made it work in the living room without looking bunched up. We ended up putting it all back in its original rooms. We were both a bit sore and grump by the time we were done. School work still got done. Both girls finished up their devotional for the school year.
Thursday I broke from routine and headed to the grocery store a day early. House cleaning and laundry kept me busy during the late morning/early afternoon while the kids finished up their week of school work. After dinner, jiu-jitsu rounded out our evening.
Friday the husband was off work. We had a sit down family breakfast for a change; country sausage, farm fresh eggs, toast and my homemade strawberry preserves. YUM!! My brother came for a visit and we all went to the $3 theater to see the new Star Wars movie in the afternoon, then we had a late lunch.
Blast From the Past
This week's flashback takes us back to October of 2014. We combined our new found love of chalk pastels with Degas style artwork in Degas In Chalk Pastels.
Have a great weekend! Please continue to pray for the people of Nashville and Cookeville, TN. God's Pit Crew is already sending teams in to take supplies and help. You can go to their website to donate or to volunteer to go help if you're able to do so.
What an odd thing for the office manager to say!
ReplyDeleteI've done the same thing with furniture - moved around heavy stuff and spent a long time trying to make a new arrangement work, only to put it all back to its original spot.
Sounds like a lovely breakfast!
I hate when I move furniture around only to find what I'm picturing in my head can't happen! Sorry you did all that work for nothing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good week. What a not so fun interview. I am sorry that didn't work out. I hope you find something you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dawn
