I don't really go by "semesters" where our homeschooling is concerned. However, we're at the end of the calendar year, and we won't be starting back up with lessons until January, so I thought it would be a good time to look at where we are.
7th Grade
Lindsey is showing more progress than Olivia, as far as finishing up subjects. As of the end of this month she has finished up her Junior Analytical Grammar, Bible, American History and 1/2 of her Literature for the year. She still has to read Anne of Green Gables and The Trojan War after the first of the year. In January, she will be adding study of the Renaissance and Reformation, Creative Writing and working independently on her sewing. You can go to Curriculum Picks - 7th Grade see what products she's using this year. Spelling, pre-algebra and science continue to go smoothly.
10th Grade
Olivia has finished Economics and is a little more than half way through Civics. She's almost finished up her American History, and then upon it's completion, she will move into a unit study of America during WWII. She has a much heavier/stronger course load this year, so most of her classes are full year. She's ahead of schedule in her American Literature, and right on track with biology, Algebra II and art. You can check out Curriculum Picks - 10th Grade to see what products we're using for each of Olivia's classes.
I'm honestly afraid to go through our books and see where we are.. Alec was having such a tough time with his math book we actually switched a few times and just settled on his book last month! I feel like that put us so far behind but having a book he enjoys and understands is making the work go faster. Hopefully he'll still finish up by the end of the year.
