Weekly Wrap Up - December, How Is That Even Possible??

The first full week of December has come and gone, and can I just say I can't believe we are moving towards Christmas and New Year at warp speed.  The husband and I were talking this week, and he asked if it's starting to feel like Christmas to me yet.  "It doesn't even seem like Thanksgiving yet, and that's already come and gone", I replied.

Monday was a regular school day, and at night we  were scheduled to have a field trip to an observatory. However, with heavy cloud coverage moving in, the field trip was cancelled.  Our town's Christmas parade was happening, so we headed downtown to watch the festivities.  It was cold and blustery, and the 90 minute parade made us happy to get home to the wood stove and hot cocoa.
Tuesday morning was Olivia's last regular class at the community college.  Next week is her final exam and then she's done with this class. She's very excited about finishing, it's not been the best experience for her.   The rest of the day as spent doing regular school work and jiu-jitsu in the evening.

Wednesday morning we had another funeral to go to. This was the step-dad of one of our homeschooling families.  School work was completed before and after the funeral.  The afternoon had Lindsey back at the museum practicing again for lantern tours.

Thursday morning we headed out to the bakery to pick up some special gingerbread men, and also went to the book fair.  We had great hopes of finishing up Christmas shopping, but that was not the case.  We were home by about 11am and everyone got on their school work while I did housework.  Jiu-jitsu was in the evening.

Friday was St. Nicholas day and we delivered our package (from the bakery) to Ms. Kay next door via her mailbox.  I always get up early to put it out before she goes out to get her newspaper.  She left later in the day to head to Europe for the holidays.   The girls headed out to babysit for a neighbor first thing, and I ran errands and picked up groceries.  With everyone back home by noon we got schoolwork and laundry completed.  In the late afternoon we sat down together to watch Our Town, it's my all time favorite play, I'm quite certain the children do not share the same sentiment. The evening saw Olivia and I heading out to see the Nutcracker, while Lindsey and Tom went Christmas shopping.

I hope you've had a great week.  I'll be sharing our review of Study.com in the next few weeks, so keep your eye out for that one.  Have a great weekend!

  2. I haven't yet started to feel like it's really the Christmas season either despite being surrounded by gifts and Christmas décor.
