Shakespeare Era Maps–Field Trip

Our little town has lots of interesting things to offer, things you wouldn’t expect in a little town.   One of those things recently was an art exhibit of authentic  16th & 17th Century maps of the world.    The art exhibit was “A Tribute to the Works and Times of William Shakespeare”.

I didn’t photograph all the maps, but here are a few that I found particularly interesting.

I loved that this art display had a sitting area with map books to peruse.   Olivia really enjoyed this aspect of the display.

Then Lindsey discovered that if she stood in just the right spot she could use her magnifying glass to focus the suns power onto one of the books.  She looks quite happy with herself, no?

Her sister then started to follow in her footsteps…I decided we should leave before the fire trucks were needed, ahem.
