Stylish Blogger Award

Last week I saw that Paisley at Homeschool Tweet gave me the Stylish Blogger Award!   What a nice little pick me up for a Monday morning!  Thanks so much!  I’m guessing it shouldn’t have taken a week to get this post finished, but life happens.

Rules for accepting this award are:
1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass this on to 15 other great bloggers you recently discovered.
4. Contact the selected bloggers and tell them about their awards.

Seven Things about me:

1.  I’m an avid reader.  I can plow through a book in one sitting if I can be left alone by the powers that be (kids, spouse) for an hour or two.  For fiction,I prefer period books (colonial, Victorian, old west).

2.  In 1999 I competed in the Flora Marathon in London to raise money for the Leukemia Society.  Although it was for a wonderful, worthy cause, it was totally because I had ALWAYS wanted to visit London so I decided that raising several thousand dollars and running ridiculous amounts of miles was a good way to do that.

3. Upon graduation of high school I was scheduled to become a United States Marine.   Then I found out that because of my poor eyesight, I wouldn’t be allowed to fly any type of aircraft, so I changed my mind.

4.  I am a clean freak!  It’s true.  I truly enjoy cleaning and taking care of my home.  Clutter drives me nuts….I’m going on a decluttering binge this week!

5.  I have lots of lofty ideas of crafts and hands on activities to accompany out studies.  Unfortunately item #4 above kicks in and the mess of those activities get me a bit….annoyed.

6.  I tend to be a  perfectionist. So if implementing #5 above takes place, and #4 doesn’t thwart the efforts, perfectionistic tendencies can be a beast to recon with!

7.  I really don’t care for these “X-amount of things about me” posts.  I never seem to have anything particularly noteworthy to share.  But, perhaps, #6 is to blame for that?

I am passing the award on to, and in no particular order, these fellow bloggers whose blogs I enjoy greatly:

1.  Along the Way
2.  Delightful Learning
3.  Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling
4.  First Things First
5.  Donna’ Daily Grind
6. The Happy Homebody
7. Giggly Girls
8. Our Busy Homeschool
9.  Homeschool Creations
10. Keeping It Simple
11. Miller Moments
12.  Embracing Destiny
13. Momma to 4 Blessings
14. Ruby Slippers School
15.  Footprints in the Butter

Homeschool Blog Awards Accepting Nominations

Join Me at The Homeschool Post!

{Click on the button to start nominating}

The Homeschool Blog Awards are now accepting nominations for the 2009 contest!
Here are a few guidelines:

  • Nominate only one blog per category – once. You can not nominate the same blog over and over!
  • Do not nominate one blog for MORE than one category. Pick the category that is best suited to the blog and nominate it in that category.

  • If a blog does not get nominated in the same category at least three times, it will not be in the final voting stage for that category. You will find out who made the finals in November.
