Weekly Wrap Up - Balmy November

Since it is November, I shared a post about Choosing to be Thankful early in the week.    The temperatures however have risen into the 80's which is VERY unusual for November in Virginia.   Although the time doesn't change until this weekend, the days have already started to be long and dark.    The views are still gorgeous during the daytime though!

Saturday the family worked with our church for our annual Kids Fun Night event.   Think of it as a huge indoor carnival with games, slides, candy and amazing prizes (like new bicycles).   Typically, this 2 hour even sees about 1500-2000 people....this year we had over 5,000 come, and we gave away over 2,600 pounds of candy.  At the end, before the names are drawn for the amazing prices a 2 minute salvation message is delivered and 240 people prayed to received Christ.   It was a great evening!

Last week I mentioned a project Lindsey was working on.   We were wrapping up out study of the Celtic tribes and so decided to do create a miniature Stonehenge.
Academics are going well.   We've had a respite in algebra, so as of now we're good, thank goodness.  Both girls are moving steadily through their assignments. Lindsey is reading "Dragon Slayer" and was introduced to the world of Beowulf and Grendel (and Grendel's mother).   She's finding it a bit gruesome, so I told her to be glad she's not watching the movie, ahem.

Oh, and an update on our YMCA membership.  We're still going 3-4 times a week.  Currently, I'm at a 30 pound weight loss (go me!!).   There's lots more to go, but I'm feeling better physically and emotionally as well.

How has your week been?
