Monday morning, Olivia was off to work and I took Lindsey to her first physical therapy appointment. The therapist was FAR more involved than the orthopedic. He did a great deal of evaluation and testing and determined that Lindsey likely damaged, if not tore, her labrum. She will be going to PT (physical therapy) twice a week, for 6 weeks to see if that is enough to rehabilitate the shoulder. If that's not the case then it's back to the orthopedic to look at possible surgery.
I'd like to point out, that this injury happened in March of this year. We had to wait two months for an opening with the orthopedic, simply because of all the covid restrictions in regards to the numbers of patients allowed in the building. The fact that people with non-covid issues have been unable to get appointments, be seen by doctors and get the help they've needed over the last 14 months is beyond ridiculous.
Lindsey ended up babysitting a few hours in the afternoon. Olivia came home from work and went to do a couple of miles of running. She's still planning on going into the military next year and is working hard on the training to prepare her for boot camp. I did my standard Monday laundry day and worked on some small projects. We had venison for dinner, yum!
Tuesday morning both girls headed off to work early. Olivia had a hair appointment scheduled for 2:45pm. At 7:30am her stylist texted to say she had to reschedule until Friday. This has become a pattern with this hair girl, so we cancelled and found another, more reliable person for later in the week. I spent the morning scraping our front porch handrail and repainting it, and then I moved onto the basement stairwell. Little projects like this really make a difference in the houses appearance. Jiu-jitsu wrapped up the girls evening.
Wednesday morning Olivia had her extra shift before heading to the equestrian center. Lindsey and I headed out to her first official PT session. She was really surprised at how weak her shoulder has gotten, and how tiring those exercises would be. On the way home from PT I dropped her off at her regular Wednesday babysitting job. My friend Yvette and I tried out a new little cafe for lunch, and it was so yummy! Olivia's hair appointment was at 3:30, so she was able to come home and freshen up a bit before heading to the salon. The girl went a lot shorter than Olivia had showed her, so she wasn't overly thrilled when she got home. Luckily, her hair grows quickly, so in about a month is should be perfect.
Thursday was pretty typical. Everyone made it to and from work without issue, I picked up groceries and did laundry. Interestingly enough, I decided to deep clean the washing machine. If you've never done this, prepare to be taken aback. The fabric softener dispenser can get pretty nasty! After that task was completed, I spent some time researching alternatives to liquid fabric softener. Jiu-jitsu wrapped up the evening.
Friday Olivia headed out to work, and Lindsey and I headed to the chiropractor. When we finished up there, we headed to be book fair to see what fun things we could find. I was happy to find some wool dryer balls, and an emergency car care kits for Olivia's car. We did find a few books, and got a jump start on some Christmas shopping. Lindsey works the afternoon shift and then we'll all be home chilling out this evening.
I hope you have a good weekend. Don't forget about those who gave all to ensure our freedom this Memorial Day weekend.
Yes, deep cleaning the washing machine is so gross...especially if you have three cats. I clean it much more often now. The hair cut is so cute.

I think her hair cut looks great; but I have definitely been in the chair thinking "stop!" a few times myself.
