The first three weeks of November have been unseasonably cold. We've had some temperatures in the 20's already. I've been holding off on starting the wood stove in hopes that the weather will warm up, but I think I'm fooling myself at this point.
Olivia had an interview with another prominent horse facility last week. She'll start working 36 hours a week with them on November 29. She'll have to shift the alpaca gig to evenings until they can replace her. She enjoys the alpaca farm, but she was told it would be 2 hours a day M-F...and she's barely getting 4 hours total M-F. I guess she works a lot faster than the person she's filling in for?
Lindsey has been busy babysitting as usual. One of the mom's she works for had knee surgery this week. Thisis the family with the newborn, 2 year old and 5 year old. Lindsey kept the kids the day of surgery and didn't get home until after 9:30pm. I made a wonderful Creamy Tortellini Soup and dropped it by for them for dinner. Lindsey fed the kids and got everyone bathed and in bed without incident.
School has been going really well. Lindsey is totally independent in her studies, unless she can't figure out what the consumer math book is asking. Sometimes the wording on the math problems are wonky, and I'll have to look up the problem in my answer guide and backtrack to see what on earth they meant.
Lindsey has also added play practices for the holiday lantern tours at the museum. This will be her fourth year of being in the tours. She was cast in one role this year, but has had to memorize several parts to accommodate lack of actors/schedule conflicts. We bought tickets for the first weekend of the plays, to hopefully avoid bad weather later in the month.
Additionally, the folks from the museum are typically in our town's Christmas parade. We are having a parade this year (HURRAY!!!). She picked up her costume for that this past week and loves it.
She adores this time period (1850's). She's actually purchased the material to make her own dress. I'll be interested to see how that turns out. It won't be a quick project that's for sure.
Have a great weekend!
We've had a mix of warm and cold weather; it feels all over the place so I definitely check out the weather app each morning. Glad to hear both girls are doing so well!
ReplyDeleteHer dress is so pretty. The weather is supposed to get crazy cold here in the next week.
