Weekly Wrap Up–Ballet and Basketball

A few of you thought it was oh-so-funny that my neighbor blamed my “Let It Snow” flag for all the crazy snow and ice this year.  Well, let me just update you on that little situation.   As you may recall, last week I dutifully took down my “Let It Snow” flag.  My little old lady neighbor was thrilled with me.   Mother nature, not.so.much.   I give you, the spring flag…in the snow.  Eight inches of new snow to be exact, but who’s counting at this point, right?

This past weekend was loads of fun.  Friday night the girls danced in the International Dance Acclaim (formerly Performance Awards).   Both girls did well, although Lindsey’s basketball injury from last week did impact her.  None the less, they both danced well and had fun.

Saturday morning Lindsey had her last basketball game of the season, and Olivia had her last cheer squad for the year.   We ran a few errands and then headed back in the evening for the end of season celebration.  This was SO much fun!

This week marked the beginning of our last 6 weeks of the academic year.  This last 6 weeks we’ll be focusing on the Civil War, and we already have some great field trips lined up!  We spent most of this week learning about the causes of the war as well as the uniforms, weapons and flags of both the Union and Confederacy.   There were also a few skirmishes reenacted throughout the house.

We did work on all our other subjects this week, but there’s not a great deal you can say about math and spelling week after week.   I did share about a typical day in our homeschool, so pop over and read One Homeschool Day-March Edition and check it out.

I hope you’ve had a good week.   Be sure to pop over to the Weekly Wrap Up and Collage Friday and see how everyone else has tackled the week…and link up with us!

    1. We'll still do math and handwriting every other day during the summer, and tons of reading. But hearing the words "only 6 more weeks" does make me smile!

  3. Neither of my older kids really loved to dance. But my youngest son, loves breakdancing and hip hop dance which was easy for him to jump into without classical training. It's a great outlet for him. Thanks for sharing your family's adventures. Visiting from Weird Unsocialized Homeschool Weekly.

    1. My oldest thrives on dance. She'd be lost without it.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I can't help but giggle at the snow around the welcome spring flag, as I have a neighbor who was insistent that my snowflake sign in the yard had caused the snow and cold as well. (Mine's only been down about a week and we're having another cold front lol) Congrats on the last six weeks happening now! That takes a lot of hard work to get to!
