This whole duct tape craft phase is an interesting phenomena to me. I know Olivia has gone to several birthday parties where the craft has been a duct tape craft. I also know that some schools have contests to see who can create the most attractive prom gown from duct tape. Things like that just make me wonder if they’ve been sniffing the glue, truly.
So, when the publishers of Duct Tape Mania asked me to review their book, I thought “aha! now I can see what it’s all about”. Truthfully, even after reading the book, I’m still not a huge fan of duct tape crafts, because honestly one slip up and you’re in trouble.
The book has color photos, and easy, numbered step by step directions for each project. It even has a little symbol to let you know if it’s novice craft or if it’s for a Craft Rock Star.
There are also little fun facts sprinkled throughout the book. For instance, did you know that duct tape has become so popular that the amount sold every year could stretch as far as the moon? (I don’t know who had the terrible task of figuring all that out, but bless their hearts.)
Both girls decided to create zip lock baggies for all their rubber band bracelets. This was a fairly easy craft, with only a few DOH moments of the duct tape becoming adhered to itself in a tangled wad, ahem.
The publisher’s have graciously provided an extra copy of Duct Tape Mania as a give away! To enter, just leave a comment letting me know why you’d like to win the book.
