6th Grade Curriculum Picks:
Learning Language Arts Through Literature - Tan Book: We have been using this program for a couple of years now and it really works for us, so we're sticking with it! We're finally hitting the "reuse" phase so all I had to buy this year was the student activity book.
Christian Liberty Press Spelling 6: I wish we'd started this spelling program sooner. It worked really well for us last year, so we're sticking with it.
Horizons Math 6: Again, this is another standby that we love! The colorful pages and spiral teaching method works well for Lindsey, so I'm not about to mess with at good thing.
Science Shepherd - Introductory Science: This was one of the "I wonder if I should" picks, then it came up as a review product and tada! Problem solved! We'll be working on this over the summer, and I anticipate finishing it up way early.
Zoology for Kids: We'll be working through this with Olivia as an added subject. The 21 hands on activities look way cool, and my kids are all about hands on. I'm excited about his one.
Memoria Press 2nd Form Latin: This is another returning product. We had great results with it last year and will continue on. I'll have to decide how to get Lindsey's high school credits out of it later, ahem.
IEW Creative Writing: The girls will be taking this class in a small co-op setting outside the home.
Additionally, we'll be working together daily as we journey through the PositiveAction - Wise Up curriculum this year. This will give us a chance to work on character, decision making and wisdom based on the Bible.
That's what I have planned for now, let's see how it holds up, grins.
Sounds like a great plan. We love the 21 activities book series. We are just finishing up Nellie Bly.

That one was a last minute add, but I know the oldest will love it even if the youngest doesn't.
DeleteThe history portfolio looks interesting. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest is very hands on, so I think this will be really good for her!
