This week we've worked on life skills, of a sort. We have yet another family member staying with us while she recovers from a pretty hefty surgery. We (ok, I) have learned how to change bandages, clear drainage tubes and smile while doing it. The kids have been working on how to give up their freedom, their rooms and their first full week of summer break, and to do it with a good attitude. We've focused on "doing all things as unto the Lord". It looks like we have another 2 weeks to go in the process.
While the patient is napping we've been working on a few product reviews and our summer reading list. Other than that it's been VERY low key here.
I've also been working on planning out our new school year. If you're looking for a planner, check out my review of the Hey Mama! Print Schoolhouse Planner 2016-2017. There's even a coupon for $10 off

How wonderfully sweet of you all to give of yourselves and your time to care for another.
ReplyDeleteI'm the go to person for my family and my husbands. This is our 5th go around with being a recovery or rehab center.
DeleteTHAT is truly a service we can not "teach" our children but to live it. What a gift to them to see it practiced and to the one recovering.
ReplyDeleteThy both help out, except with anything that involves blood. They are a bit squeamish yet, grins.
DeleteIt is such a blessing to have people around when you are healing from surgery. What a blessing you are. Have a wonderful second week of summer.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dawn
I try to teach them that we are planting seeds. Hopefully we'll never have to reap a harvest of this kind, but if we do, the ground work has been laid.
