Speaking of fun, Olivia and the rest of the youth workers at her museum, had an exciting opportunity this week. They all went to work at noon on their respective farms, and spent the day preparing authentic meals for a feast. In the evening, once the museum closed, all the kids brought their prepared foods to the pavilion and had a grand feast. Once the meal was finished and clean up was over, they had an old fashioned barn dance until 10pm or so. Then, the grand finale, they got to sleep overnight on site. All the girls slept in the "old world" while the boys slept in the "new world'. You can't imagine how excited Olivia was about this whole thing.
I'm still trying to work out exactly when we'll start back to school. I'd planned on doing the 17th, but then a field trip landed on that day. Two day neighborhood yard sale also hits that week, so I decided to kick that idea to the curb. Then I moved it to August 22....and then my husbands work announced they are shutting down the week of September 5th (just for the week)...so I'm not sure I want to start up for 2 weeks and then take a 1 week break.
What's your back to school date?

She looks divine! Oh, I wanted to get my daughters into modeling. It can be such a boost in etiquette and beauty management. My oldest even did a few pageants.
ReplyDeleteThis child would do really well with something like modeling or pageants. I just don't know that we're ready to get into all of that, just yet!
DeleteThis was our first week back, but it was very adapted because of a dance intensive. However, we are slowly getting back into the routine of things. The museum party sounds like a blast.

We didn't do the dance intensives, or Performance Workshops this summer. It's going to be hard for me to get used to this no dance thing!
