Weekly Wrap Up - Work and College Plans

This has been a sweltering week here.  Humidity and temperatures have been high, which means we've also had a lot of rain and storms, and not a lot of outdoor time.  I did manage to get a couple of photos of my black-eyed-susans, cone flowers and the purple basil.

Monday  was a pretty standard day.  Olivia worked and Lindsey and I went to the gym, then worked on some projects around the house.  We picked Olivia up and headed out to the chiropractor for our 6 weeks check ups.  Olivia's right hip had been really bothering her, but we were surprised to find that her femur was out of place.   A quick adjustment got her back to normal.   We'd planned on going to a baseball game in the evening, but heavy rains caused that game to be postponed.

Tuesday was more work and gym in the morning.  Lindsey had a sewing job to get done for my brother, so she spent the better part of her afternoon making curtains for his living room.  I did a little gardening and some housework.   The evening was supposed to be a baseball game, but guess what, more rain and another postponement.

Wednesday was status quo of work/gym/housework for the morning/afternoon.  I spent several hours working in the yard and gardens, and washing the dog.  Then in the evening, Olivia and I went to the community college to meet with the admissions counselor and get her signed up for her first college classes in August.  Unfortunately, it had taken us a couple of weeks to get a date that worked for the admissions gal, and by the time we got there the class she needed was full.   They are going to ask the professor if they can make an exception for her, so for now we're dead in the water.   She also received notification that she'd won first place in a poster contest she'd entered, now she's headed to the state competition level.
Thursday Olivia went to work, then I dropped Lindsey off at the museum.  The museum has been squirrelly lately, so her schedule has been all over the place.   Once I dropped her off, I went ahead and did the weekly grocery shopping and then went to the gym a little later in the day.  The evening was supposed to be super busy/hectic, but a violent storm moved in and caused everything to be cancelled.

Friday was a more low key day.  Both girls worked, and I had lunch with my gal pal Yvette.  It's a nice lead into a hopefully quiet weekend.

How was your week?

  1. I hope they can squeeze her into the class; that is such a disappointment to wait and then find out it's full already.

  2. we had a lot of rain here too, but it didn't cancel any of our activities. Hope everything works out with the class - we are experiencing similar frustrations getting my daughter enrolled in all the classes she needs. I keep thinking it will be easier from now on - it's just the first time and we don't know what we are doing. :-)

  3. Learning to sew is one thing I wasn't to good at when I was younger. Only one of my daughters wanted to learn and took free classes at the store that sold fabrics.

  4. It amazes me how much summers look different for teens than when they were little. Everyone is growing up! Looks like a great week. We were near Richmond this week and it was so stinking hot. Glad to be back in the mountains.
    Blessings, Dawn
