Weekly Wrap Up - Birthday Week

We had another choppy week, and the AC is still out.   Saturday was Lindsey's birthday party with the grandparents and aunts/uncles.   It got a wee bit warm in here with all those bodies, but it was still a fun family get together.
Monday we were off school and work for Labor Day. Lindsey worked at the museum for an event they were hosting and Tom, Olivia and I went over and had lunch and listened to live music.

Tuesday was a regular school/college day.  Olivia had her first college test, and didn't do as well as she'd thought she would.  The good news is that at least it finally gave her some insight into what the professor was expecting, so moving head should be more productive.   The evening contained a 2 hour volleyball practice, followed by a 90 minute jiu-jitsu class.

Wednesday was Lindsey's 14th birthday, which means it was another school holiday for us.  We were up early, feasting on homemade Belgian waffles with Nutella and whipped cream, followed by a day of shopping, pizza and going to see the movie Overcomer at the theatre.  Great movie!!

Thursday Lindsey had an orthodontist appointment early in the morning.  Olivia went to the farm mid-morning and worked until 2:30.  Everyone was able to get school done around their work schedules, which is good considering we had volleyball and jiu-jitsu again in the evening.

Friday Lindsey babysat from 10am-4:30.  She got up early and knocked out all of her tests and the majority of her schoolwork before she left.  She took language arts with her to work on during nap time.  Olivia was as the farm early and back home by noon to work on her schoolwork and redo her college class notebook.

We are expecting rains and wind from what's left of Dorian, but nothing like the coast line.  Have a safe, relaxing weekend!

  1. I really feel for Olivia; but I realized once I was in my second or third year of college that I always did poorly on every first test because each professor does tackle the material in a different way and that first test helped me see what they placed importance on. I wish her all the luck!
