Sunday morning we were back at the farm at 5:30, the new horse responded great to Olivia's new techniques. We went to the 9am service at church and then home for our new tradition of homemade belgian waffles. We were back at the farm at 12:30, then I had to take Olivia out to her original farm to get up to date on their livestock care so she can tend to their animals later this week. The evening was quiet. I made homemade Salisbury steaks, mashed potatoes and fresh from the neighbor's garden green beans for dinner. I added a fresh from my garden onion, some fresh minced garlic cloves, a few pieces of bacon and a can of potatoes and they were delish. I rarely buy potatoes, and was happy to find a can in my pantry.
Monday began the hectic part of the week. Olivia and I were at the farm at 5:30am. We got back around 7, Bella arrived around 7:30am. Lindsey had and orthodontist appointment at 9:30am, so Olivia watched Bella while we were gone. We were back at the farm by 12:15, Olivia finished up there at 1:30 and quickly washed off and changed clothes so she could get to the YMCA job by 2pm. She got off at 5:30 and I was exhausted from all the running around. We had baked chicken and veggies for dinner.
Tuesday was a repeat of Monday, without the orthodontist, but we added in a trip to the 2nd farm after Olivia got off work at the YMCA at 5:30. Jiu-jitsu was at 6:30, Lindsey went, but Olivia was just too drained from the day. I made crockpot macaroni and cheese and beets for dinner.
Wednesday was a repeat of Tuesday. The days are long, and it's been terribly hot and humid. Olivia comes home exhausted from the heat, and so does my husband. He works in a facility that makes industrial sized air conditioner units, but the manufacturing facility is isn't air conditioned. It's sickening hot during the summer. We had hamburgers and left over mac/cheese for dinner.
Thursday Olivia and I got to sleep in a bit. She didn't have to be at the farm until 12:40. Unfortunately, neither of us could sleep and we were both up before 7am. Bella got here around 7:30. I made a stock up run to the grocery store, and don't plan to go back for a while. Olivia and I headed to the farm, and Lindsey had 3 more kids come by for her to watch for an hour. I dropped Olivia off at the YMCA just before 2pm then headed home to do some laundry until she got off at 5:30. The kids went to jiu-jitsu and while they were out we got notification that the company Tom works for had their first official positive testing employee. The facility was immediately closed and will be shut down through Sunday night at 11pm to disinfect. Dinner was spaghetti/meatballs and a salad.
Friday morning was a change in schedule. Olivia had to be at the YMCA at 7:15am. Bella isn't scheduled to arrive until 9:30am. I will spend the morning cleaning house then pick Olivia up at noon to go to the farm to take care of the horses, then get her back to the Y by 2pm. She will work until a little after 5:30pm. Lots of running this week, but that's meant she's got in extra driving time. I think dinner will be chicken tenders and salad...maybe...I don't really know yet.
Have a great weekend. Stay cool if you can!
Wow that does sound like a busy week! My husband is often working outside in the middle of a sand/gravel quarry and comes home so tired from the heat and sun in the summer.
ReplyDeleteThey are good men to endure those circumstances to provide for their families.
DeleteWow! You all are running around. That schedule sounds a bit much. However, the driving practice is great. We have to get back to that. How ironic to work in an a/c factory that isn't air conditioned.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dawn
Thankfully this is the only week where the two jobs overlap, so the rest of her summer job schedule should be less hectic. They've extended camp until August 14 now.
DeleteWow you did have a busy week! My husband works outside all day and it's brutally hot in Texas right now. He is so exhausted when he comes in.
