Friday, after we got home from our family day on the town, I made my dessert for Saturday's upcoming festivities, and we made more popcorn balls and carved pumpkins. Olivia's art projects are always a lot more involved than her sisters, so Lindsey was done in 30-45 minutes. Olivia took several hours to complete her pumpkin.
Saturday was a typical work day for Olivia. When we got home from the afternoon feeding we packed up and headed out to my brothers for our traditional Great Pumpkin Party. The full moon/blue moon/hunter's moon was beautiful and added lots of ambiance. Here are some photos.
Sunday was pretty typical as well. Olivia and I enjoyed that extra hour of sleep when the 4:45am alarm went off. Lindsey was scheduled to work in nursery at church, and Olivia is a youth leader, so we went to the late service (11am). Tom and I drove separately since Olivia and I leave directly from church to head to work. Lindsey's babysitting gig at the other church is winding down (nobody attending), so she was home in the evening for a change.
Monday morning was cold and very windy here. Most of the colorful leaves blew away, with the exception of the tree in our back yard, which is still as green as ever. It was a pretty average day. Everyone worked on their lessons independently. I worked on laundry and a few projects and then went for a physical.
Tuesday I as up early to go vote. Olivia went to the farm for the day and got in some serious riding time. Lindsey took her first unit test in ASL and aced it. She's enjoying this class so much and is really excelling. The evening brought jiu-jitsu, and watching the election coverage.
Wednesday was kind of chill. Nobody had anywhere to be, lessons got completed and life went on. We tuned in to more election coverage...then rolled our eyes and tuned back out. At least it was cookie night, and there were warm chocolate chip cookies to end the day.
Thursday was a blur of grocery shopping, dropping Olivia off at the farm, doing laundry and working on lesson plans for the rest of the month. Jiu-jitsu wrapped up the evening again.
Friday morning I was up early and off to get a mammogram and blood work done. Tom was off work and we went on a family road trip to Paint Bank,Va. I'll share a full post about that next week, but here's a picture that sums up the "road trip" part.
Have a great weekend!
Wow, if that poster is any indication...there is an exciting post ahead. I hope you all have a restful weekend. The pumpkin party looks fun.
