Well, here I am on my every other week wrap up. There's not a whole lot going on right now as we're still on summer break, so not a lot to report.
Our public schools started back on Tuesday. There's a lot of "things" happening here as far as schools, and the kids are caught in the middle. Bus drivers are hard to find, so some of our schools are packing 2-3 routes on 1 bus, with kids having to sit in the aisle on the floor. They are required to wear masks while on the bus, but somehow the social distancing and safety issues of kids literally having to sit on the floor is not an issue. Masks are now required in schools as well.
A lot of parents are pulling their kids out of school. I've been busy with meetings and phone calls helping walk people through the legalities and curriculum shopping.
Olivia's still working hard. She has finally realized that working 7 days a week will cause burn out and she'll be quitting her weekend job soon. She's been there for 18 months, and hates to leave that employer, but she's just plain worn out.
Lindsey's been on a couple weeks of break from babysitting. She has a couple of extra kids on Friday of this week, they were a lively lot. It's looking like she'll be working 5 days a week starting in September. We'll have to monitor how that impacts her academics and see if that has to be cut back any.
