There's been a lot of things going on behind the scenes in our world. I won't go into detail, but I will say that God moved in a HUGE way and totally closed a door on a situation. This momma's heart is incredibly thankful and has shed many a happy tear this week.
In addition to her regular work schedule, Olivia did a farm sitting job this week. That girl is in high demand and has made quite a name for herself in the equine community here.
Lindsey's nanny families are still on hiatus for now, so she's been home all week. She also finished phyiscal therapy this week on her shoulder. I'm glad to be through that season of life, those co-pays are a beast on the budget, but still much cheaper than surgery AND therapy.
Here's the latest baby blanket she made for a co-worker from the museum. It's for a baby boy, and they went with yellow for the nursery theme. The white strips have little sheep on them, so she used the yellow backing to make the sheep pop. All of the blanket is made from some super soft material called "minky". It doesn't fray at all, and is SO SOFT!
Thursday was the start of our new academic year. We were supposed to start next week, but had to back up and punt since Lindsey's July trip got bumped out to August and I didn't want to push our start out any later. We were up early to go to the chiropractor, then the grocery store before getting home to start on the academics. Everything went really smoothly, and other than not being a fan of biology, she didn't have any complaints with her subjects.
In the late afternoon she had her first post-braces dental checkup. This was a new adult dentist (the one I go to) and she liked it MUCH better than the pediatric dentist she's gone to since she was little. The original dentist there was WONDERFUL, but he had to sell the practice due to health issues several years back and it just wasn't the best transition. No cavities and everything looked great!
Friday was a normal at home day. Normal other than the dog got sprayed by a skunk at 3:30am and although he's still outside, the house smells of skunk, as does the yard. Poor thing, after he got sprayed he came and sat by the back door and moaned/howled until he finally wore himself out and decided to go to bed. He got a bash with skunk wash shortly after daybreak (when we could be sure there was no skunk roaming around the yard.) Lindsey was up at 7:30am and started on school as soon as the coffee kicked in. I spend the day working on small projects around the house.
Have a great weekend!
That baby blanket looks so nice and soft! I hope the school year goes well I never liked biology either-- not when I was a student and not when I was teaching it last year. Sorry to hear your poor pup was sprayed. That smell really lingers.
