This past Saturday, Olivia and I went to our church's annual women's conference. We had a wonderful time, and it was good to spend some one-on-one time with her. She had to leave a bit early to get to her job for the afternoon feeding, but she didn't miss anything big. When I got home, I picked up Lindsey and we traveled out to the area where I grew up, to attend the annual heritage festival. Things apparently have changed a great deal...it typically has apple butter making, steam engines, foods, hand crafts and folks dressed in pioneer garb (think Little House on the Prairie . We were a bit surprised to see this person roaming around (she has antlers, a bikini top, and a loin cloth....WHAT???).
Lindsey had a standard work and school week Monday-Wednesday. She's doing surprisingly well in biology. In literature, she read two more short selections from Poe, The Tell-Tale Heart and The Black Cat. The man really did have some major issues. .
Wednesday evening we hit the road for a girl's trip/Sweet 16 do-over trip. We'll be gone through Sunday, so I'll share about the trip next week.
Earlier this week, I shared a review of the book 8 Greats Smarts for Homeschoolers. Be sure to pop over and read it.
Have a great weekend!
Have fun on your girl's trip!
