Weekly Wrap Up - Thanksgiving Week

We've had a great week here.  Lindsey only worked Monday and Tuesday.  Tom got to work a split shift of 10am-6pm, Monday - Wednesday.  I didn't have class on Wednesday night.   It was a more normal week, with the kids home during the day and our regular family dinners in the evening.

Wednesday I did some prep work for Thanksgiving.  I made glazed sweet potatoes in the crock pot, and baked an apple crisp.  I went ahead and pre-measured and bagged my seasoning mixes for my traditional dressing balls.  I created of list of all items needed, and then I gathered all the remaining ingredients for the dressing balls and corn pudding and the necessary baking dishes.  I set up a staging area, where everything that didn't need refrigeration was placed.  I bagged all the refrigerated ingredients (butter, eggs, sour cream) and labeled the bag.  Once I'd completed the staging, I double checked my list to make sure nothing had been forgotten.

Thursday morning I consulted my list, gathered the items from the fridge and loaded the car.  The list then went with me to my brother's house.  At the end of the evening, I checked things off to make sure my baking dishes/lids and mixing bowls made it back into the car.

The day was spent visiting, cooking and having family fun.   Lindsey took her new game "Poetry for Neanderthals" and we had a great time playing, with lots of laughter.

We also did a little historical celebrating including weaponry.  Lindsey is a natural when it comes to shooting.  Very accurate with little practice.

Olivia is always so serious, she cracks me up.

Today we were out early to a local artisan Christmas market.  The wind is howling and it was frigid.  The girls picked up a few items and I bought this cute little gnome.  He was just too cute to leave behind.

I hope you've all had a great week!
