Weekly Wrap Up - Lindsey's 17th Birthday Week

We had Lindsey's 17th birthday celebration this past weekend.  We had a dinner and invited the grandparents, aunts, uncles and my best friend and her husband, who are also considered an aunt and uncle.  The menu was simple, but items Lindsey asked for specifically.  We had crack chicken sandwiches, macaroni salad, Italian pasta salad, corn pudding (some call it corn casserole), a cheese ball, and deviled eggs.  My BFF and her husband surprised us by bringing ribs and a fruit salad to add to the menu.   Lindsey asked for a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for her dessert, and coffee flavored ice cream.  It was a unique blend of foods that was very tasty.   We even got in a few rounds of  Poetry for Neanderthals and laughed till our sides hurt.

Monday was of course Labor Day.  Tom was off work and we all went out to dinner and the girls did a little shopping.

Tuesday was back to regular schedules.  School work is going well, and pretty quickly in the mornings.  Olivia is helping with coaching Lindsey's volleyball team, so the two of them had volleyball in the evening and then went on to their jiu-jitsu class.

Wednesday was regular school work.  There was both a middle school and junior varsity volleyball game in the evening.  Lindsey goes to all the games to help coach the younger levels and help the coach, and she and Olivia help with set up/tear down for all home games.  I usually go to home games and either sell tickets, or work the concessions stand during games that Lindsey's team doesn't play.

Thursday I did my regular grocery shopping in the morning, while Lindsey worked on school.  There was another set of home games for the middles school and junior varsity.  I went with Lindsey and sold tickets, Olivia went to jiu-jitsu to help teach the kids class there.

Friday morning, Olivia and I went on a little jaunt to a tattoo shop and I watched as she got a tattoo.  It turned out really nice and she was really pleased with it.  If you're anti - tattoo, that's cool, don't be leaving ugly comments thought.

We had a long line up of volleyball in the evening.  Middle school, junior varsity and varsity all had games.  Lindsey finally got to play (she's the captain of the varsity team).  They had an exciting match and came away with a big win over their rival team!

My apologies for the late post...that day off on Monday has had me off schedule by a day all week.  Have a great weekend!
