Monday morning Lindsey had her annual eye doctor visit. She still doesn't need glasses, which is good. She has found that when she reads for extensive periods of time her eyes get very fatigued and blurry, so she thought maybe she'd need reading glasses. They told her to use eye drops and she'd be fine. It greatly annoyed her, because the doctor really didn't seem to address her concerns. Her unopened bottle of eye drops are sitting on a shelf, likely to never see the light of day.
School went smoothly. The first home volleyball games started at 4:30 for middle school, 5:30 for JV and 6:30 for varsity. We went early to help get things set up, and Olivia and I ended up being line judges, running the ticket booth and helping with tear down at the end. Out of all those players, we were the only family to sign up to help with anything...then we just filled in as necessary to get things done. The poor athletic director is new to this school, and didn't realize they aren't the "volunteer" type.
Tuesday Lindsey finished her first unit in U.S. government. The rest of her school work went by quickly. Jiu-jitsu rounded out the evening. I spent a great deal of time working in my flower gardens.

Wednesday was pretty typical. There was volleyball practice in the evening, and the coach recruited Olivia to help with practices/coaching. This will help get them used to hard/fast serves coming at them, they were a bit unprepared on Monday. While they were gone, I worked in the flower beds harvesting seems and dead heading plants.
Thursday morning I went grocery shopping while Lindsey worked on school. Her birthday is this coming weekend, so I had a lot of extras to pick up. I find it odd at the random things that are no longer easy to find in stores. Some items have doubled in price, like cream cheese. If you CAN find it, you pay twice what you did in January. Lindsey traveled with the middle school and JV teams to an away game. Olivia had jiu-jitsu from 5pm (teaching kid's class) to about 8.
Friday is a regular school day and no volleyball. We'll be spending the day cooking foods for Lindsey's birthday dinner this weekend with the grandparents and my brother. Lots to get done, but Lindsey likes cooking and has become quite the helper in the kitchen.
