Weekly Wrap Up - Closing in On Summer

Our ballet recital was SO much fun!   This was by far my favorite production we've done over the years.   We were all thoroughly exhausted by the end of the weekend.  Then for good measure we had to throw in the long trips to see the momma's and grandma's for Mother's Day, we were beyond tired.

Due to the crazy schedule, I postponed the girls end of year Latin exam until Tuesday, instead of Monday as planned.   One more subject officially done!     Lindsey if finished for the year and is officially a 6th grader now.  Olivia finished up spelling this week.   We have about a week and a half of pre-algebra to go and she'll be done.

Tuesday we went on a field trip to our local SPCA with a group of homeschoolers.   I am horribly allergic to cats, and dogs in large quantities are starting to be an issue as well, so I sat outside on a bench and let my girls go in with the group.  After they toured that facility, they walked next door to the spay and neuter clinic and actually got to watch as a surgery was done.   This was not a good fit for some, especially the boys who watched the procedure on the male dog, ahem.

We started working on a new math game review.  Here's a sneak peek.

For those of you who may struggle with Mother's Day, due to a less than stellar childhood, I shared a little encouragement  in my post Changing the Course.     Check out my Music Appreciation Review if you're looking for a fun way to introduce your elementary students to classical music and composers.  Lastly, don't forget you only have a few more days to enter my Kwik Stix Giveaway!!
