Weekly Wrap Up - Hello August

I'm a little late with my post, my apologies!

It was pretty typical Monday-Thursday with Bella arriving sometime between 9am and 10am each day.  Olivia had to be at work at the YMCA at 10:30 each day (until a coworker called out sick and they called her in at 8am).   There were several job interviews lined up this week for Olivia.  A hunt club (fox hunting dog/horse maintenance), a stable/farm hand, and a hydroponic flower producer.  I called and scheduled Lindsey's wisdom tooth extraction for August 20.

Friday was a busy day, and also the last day for Bella to be with us.  Tom was off work, so he and I went out for an early morning breakfast date.  Olivia had the hydroponic job interview at 9:30am, and was hired on the spot.  She won't be starting until September 8 after she's finished her farm sitting jobs for this month.   Her new job will have her working M-F, 7am - 3pm.   She's very excited about this opportunity.  She will keep her weekend job working with the thoroughbreds as well.   We went straight from the interview to her job at the YMCA and managed to get there exactly on time (score).

After dropping Olivia at work I stopped to pick up Lindsey's medications for her surgery.  The pain pills and antibiotic are really big, and she has never had success with swallowing pills.  We'll have to practice this somehow before surgery.  From 2pm - 5pm I was set up at a local used curriculum sale.  Then I picked Olivia up from work and we went to the local farm supply store so she could buy new muck boots.   She felt very accomplished to be able to pay for her boots (they are not cheap) with her own money.

We've had terrible storms come through the last two days.  Lots of flooding and trees down, and what appears to have been at least one tornado.  The farm that Olivia will be taking care of later in August was hit by lightning, but thankfully the people and animals are ok.  The electronics, not so much.

I hope you've had a good week.  Enjoy the weekend!

  1. If they are pills (not capsules) you can use a pill crusher to crush the pills and put them with pudding. My daughter struggles with large pills. She finally mastered small pills like Advil. Congrats to Olivia! What an exciting job opportunity.
    Blessings, Dawn
